Maura Aimette
Veteran NJ English teacher for more than 20 years, with degrees from Columbia University and the New School in NYC, Maura has made a defining mark in public education. She has taught 6th grade Language Arts at CMS in Stirling since 2001.
In Daydream, she plays herself... an eccentric and quirky teacher who's lessons are humorous, but also profound. She attempts to get through to Nick, despite his resistance. As the story progresses, a bond forms between the two of them.
Maura has recently finished her final year teaching her LAL class and is currently transitioning to becoming a librarian. In addition to Daydream, she is also the creator of the educational series "Writing Rules" as well as a published author and poet.
Kevin C. Carr
A former circus clown and graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, Kevin's talents range from that of an actor, stuntman, magician, writer, and comedian. He is currently a full time corporate magician/mentalist based out of NYC.
In the film, he portrays "Frank", Nick's emotionally distant father. While most often playing humorous roles, Daydream allowed Kevin to stretch his legs as a dramatic actor. His performance brings an effective contrast of stark realism to the story, showing the pains of growing up, and the common disconnect between parents and children.
In addition to his supporting role in Daydream, he has appeared in various films and TV shows, most notably CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Friday Night Lights, and The Polar Express.
Kieran Patrick
Kieran Patrick Aimette is Maura's 12-year-old son. Daydream is his first acting experience. In the film, he portrays "Nick", a shy and defensive hermit, based off of the movie's director when he was that age. Nick is caught between his aloof father, and his energetic English teacher who just won't leave him alone!
Kieran also approaches the role by bringing a degree of his own personality and charisma, making the character a combination of a 27 year-old's memories of childhood, and an actual kid currently going through adolescence.
In addition to Daydream, Kieran is a published writer and has recently completed several short stories as well as an 80-page manuscript about the relationship between a father and son. He plans to continue building his writing portfolio in the coming years.
